Dream BIG for Earth Day!
Thu, Apr 22, 2021, 10:00 AM PDT
Interactive workshop to dream up a WORLD CHANGING CLIMATE ART IN ACTION COLLABORATION
How do we make real change for the climate and our future? It all starts with an idea.
In this interactive Earth Day workshop, Carrie Ziegler, of Earth Art will facilitate participants through a process of imagination and conceptualization. Together, we will let the ideas blow through us, setting some aside and building upon others, until we have at our fingertips, a truly innovative, world changing idea, complete with prospective partners and funders.
From there? Who knows. Our ideas will be in the ether, ready for us to pick up and implement when the universe aligns.
Let's imagine for Earth Day!

Orca Moon ~ The Illuminated Ball
Saturday, February 23, Doors open at 7:30 pm
Eagles Ballroom, 805 4th Ave. E, Olympia
Tickets are available at: http://brownpapertickets.com
or at
Traditions Café and World Folk Art, 300 5th Ave. SW, Olympia - (cash or check only at Traditions, please)
The Illuminated Ball is a delightful evening of theatrical pageantry and live music. The primary fundraiser for the Procession Art Studio, the annual Ball brims with the camaraderie of those seeking to elevate the standing of the natural world, both in our lives and for generations to come.
This year’s luminary and dance pageant, Orca Moon, draws inspiration from our southern resident Orca whale community, and their tenacity and fragility. Through original music and choreography, aerial performance, and signature luminary lanterns, the pageant will offer a poignant and stirring reflection about what’s at stake when a species becomes extinct and its narrative in the community of nature goes silent.
As the pageant performance ends, the party begins with The Lumen dance band, playing music influenced by groups such as The Band, Phish, and the Rolling Stones. They’ll play until 1:00 AM! Dress to illuminate!
Throughout the evening, there will be a no-host bar and appetizers. A silent auction will feature art by regional artists, and offerings from our local businesses.
This year is our 25th Procession season. Your support will help us offer a free Community Art Studio where people can create costumes, floats, luminaries, and batik art for this year’s Procession of the Species Celebration.
